WHAT IS LOVE?

SCRIPTURE: ‘Love is patient, love is kind.’ – 1 Corinthians 13:4. (NIV)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Love displays a genuine interest in the lives and destinies of other people.

The scripture reveals that our God is the God of love. It was Love in His Heart that made Him to send His only begotten Son to die for our sins while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8).

God created us in His image (Genesis 1:26) and deposited His character of love in our lives so we can love our neighbour the way He loves us.

To be able to love our neighbour, we must understand the meaning of love:
1. Love is Showing Kindness.
Love is treating people the way you would want to be treated. The Message Bible Version of Matthew 7:12 says, ‘Here is a simple, rule-of-thumb guide for behaviour: Ask yourself what you want people to do for you, then grab the initiative and do it for them...’ How would you want to be treated? Treat others like that.

2. Love is Selfless Existence.
Love is never self-absorbed or self-focused. Love displays a genuine interest in the lives and destinies of other people. Loveless-ness, on the other hand is manifested in armed robbery, in husband-snatching, in embezzlement of public funds, in a lecturer sexually harassing a student in exchange for a pass mark, etc.

Remember this: Love displays a genuine interest in the lives and destinies of other people.

ASSIGNMENT(s):
1. List three practical actions of selfless love that you are willing to implement in your life in order to please others.
2. Practise them to display genuine interest in people as Jesus did.

PRAYER: Lord, I refuse to be selfish. Help me, Lord, to show interest in the well-being of others, in Jesus’ Name.

SPENDING TIME WITH THE WORD - A SECRET OF POWER

SCRIPTURE: For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. – Hebrews. 4:12

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The intake of the Word of God connects you with the Life of God.

Spending time with the Word of God is spending time to connect with power. When a person spends time with the Word of God, he absorbs the Life of God (John 6:63; 2 Peter 1:3-4). An alcoholic, for instance, gets ethanol from alcohol and the smoker gets nicotine from tobacco (producing different effects in their bodies). In the same way, there is an active ingredient in the Word of God called, THE LIFE OF GOD that is absorbed by the person who spends time with the Word. The intake of the Word of God connects you with the Life of God.

Nuclear energy is trapped inside the nucleus of an atom, in the process called ‘Nuclear Fusion.’ And if that energy is released, it can blow up a city. In the same manner, when you break down the Word of God, inside it is the Life of God.

The Word of God contains the Life of God, and that Life is supernatural. When a person is connected to the Word of God, he is connected to supernatural life. What this means is that, he connects with enough power to escape natural or ordinary living. So, people who have no time for the Word of God have enough time to be ordinary.

Remember this: The intake of the Word of God connects you with the Life of God.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1.Spend time with the Word of God.
2. Look for light (Rhema) to absorb in the Scripture, not the letters to quote.

PRAYER: Lord, I desire to spend quality time with You and Your Word. Give me the grace, in Jesus’ Name.

THE TRUTH ABOUT DIVINE MANTLE

SCRIPTURE: And the Lord said unto Samuel, How long wilt thou mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons. – 1 Samuel 16:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Divine mandates are losable.

One of the established realities of life is that God’s people may fail but God’s purpose never fails. In our anchor Scripture, we see that the failure of Saul did not mean the failure of God’s agenda for Israel. God seemed to have said: “I have rejected Saul but I have an alternative plan” (Samuel 16:1 paraphrased). God raised David to fulfil His agenda for Israel. God may discard people but He never discards purpose.

So, when one person starts messing up with God’s plan, another person is warming up to fulfil the same plan.

It has been confirmed that God has a defined plan for everyone on earth (Jeremiah 1:5). Maybe God has a plan for you to be an apostolic voice, a prophetic voice, a teaching voice, a pastoral voice, a governmental political voice or a voice in the business and financial sector in your generation, etc.

You must make up your mind to hold unto it because it is losable. Divine mandates are losable; Divine mantles are inheritable by others (Rev. 3:11), but that will not be your portion, in Jesus’ Name. But the truth is: no one has an exclusive ownership of Divine purpose. So, ARISE AND FULFIL DESTINY!

Remember this: Divine mandates are losable.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Ask God for mercy, if you are still delaying in carrying out God’s instructions for your life.
2. Determine to urgently run with any vision God has given you.
3. Determine to overlook setbacks so you can make impact.

ACCESSING THE BLESSING THROUGH PRAISE

SCRIPTURE: Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. – Psalms 67:5-7

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It does not matter what the devil took from you, there is something he could not take; praise God for it.

It is has been confirmed that praise is a fertilizer and magnet of the blessing of God. Throughout the Scripture, men that were massively blessed were heavily praise-full (Psalms 100:1-4). David laid up enough silver and gold for his son, Solomon, to build a temple without sweat. He was a man so blessed of God that he walked in the realm of every anointing available: he was a priest, a prophet, a king, etc. What was his secret – praise! Praise blessed him. Psalms 119:164 gives us his praise schedule. No wonder he was blessed beyond measure.

A murmurer or grumbler cannot end as a blessed person.

What is the connection between praise and the blessing?

Praise provokes attention-commanding results, evidence-provoking dimension of God’s blessings (Psalm 67:7). Praise ushers a person into the realm of visible blessings.

My counsel to you is, do not focus on what is lost, focus on what is left, and your focus on what is left will recover what is lost. It does not matter what the devil took from you, there is still something he could not take; praise God for it.
As you praise God, you will be ushered into the realm of visible blessing, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: It does not matter what the devil took from you, there is still something he could not take; praise God for it.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Live a life of praise.
2. Deliberately refuse to complain no matter what the devil is showing you.

GRACE BIRTHS POWER

SCRIPTURE: And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all. – Acts 4:33

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To be en-graced is to be empowered.

Grace is a secret of power; and great grace is the sponsor of great power. To be en-graced, therefore, is to be empowered. And power is key to conquest in the journey of life; it is also necessary for the repair of lives and destiny (Acts 10:38). Grace turns a person into a “bulldozer” personality. When God en-graces a person, He empowers him, so a person who has grace has power.

What, then, are the products of power?
1. It takes power to prevail (Gen 32:28). In the battles of life it takes power not to end as a casualty.
2. It takes power to terminate captivity.
Power breaks captivity (Exodus 32:11). Captivity continues until relevant power is accessed. A major reason for captivity is bankruptcy of power.

Beloved, it is power that will scatter whatever is between you and where you are meant to be in life; and if you need that power, connect with the grace of God.

The grace of God that will empower you for exploits and victories in life and destiny is released unto you today in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: To be en-graced is to be empowered.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Humble yourself in order to connect with the grace of God (James 4:6).
2. Always create an atmosphere of God’s Presence around you.

THE BLESSING OF THE MORNING

SCRIPTURE: And Jacob was left alone; and there wrestled a man with him until the breaking of the day... And Jacob asked him, and said, tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore is it that thou dost ask after my name? And he blessed him there. – Genesis 32:24-29

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Daybreak is a strategic time for the release of the blessing.

It is discovered that the daybreak is a strategic time for the release of the blessing, both in scriptures and in real life. Most parents call their children early in the morning and speak strategic things into their lives. Genesis 31:55 says, “And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them...” So, early hours of the morning is a strategic time for the release of the blessing. The Blessing means empowerment for progress and success. Jacob received the blessing of the morning which empowered him to go forward (Genesis 32:24-28) and the products of that blessing were:

1. The termination of struggles: Everything Jacob got was by struggle; he struggled from the womb (Genesis 25:22). He struggled to get married. He struggled to collect his salary from Laban. He seemed to be succeeding, but there was nothing he got that was not by struggle.

2. A change of identity. His name was Jacob (con man); it was a limiting name. But after the early morning encounter he had with God, his identity (name) which was contrary to his destiny was changed to Israel.

As you seek God early, the blessing of the morning will be released to you, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Daybreak is a strategic time for the release of the blessing.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Cultivate the habit of seeking God early.
2. Desire a personal encounter with God each time you seek Him.

THE MYSTERY OF MORNING - A SEASON OF JUDGEMENT

SCRIPTURE: With my soul have I desired thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early: for when thy judgments are in the earth, the inhabitants of the world will learn righteousness. – Isaiah 26:9

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Those who seek God early activate His judgements in the earth.

In our anchor Scripture, we see that to seek God early is to provoke His judgments in the earth. And when God executes judgment, no one who is culpable can survive it. In Exodus 12:12, God said, “For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the Lord.” You see, God dealt with the Egyptians and the children of Israel were released. By the time God is through with your enemies, you will not beg them to let you go; they must let you go.

Now, who/what are qualified for judgments when we seek God early?
1. Personalities or entities responsible for the captivity and bondage of God’s people.
2. Personalities or entities responsible for the infirmities and afflictions of God’s people. Whether it is a virus, bacteria, demon or witch that is responsible for cancer, HIV, hypertension; they shall not escape judgment.
3. Controlling altars and deities manipulating the destinies of God’s people.

I prophesy into your life; every altar or shrine that is behind the challenges of your life shall experience judgment today, in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Those who seek God early activate His judgments in the earth.

HOW TO PROVOKE GOD'S COMPASSION

SCRIPTURE: “Then Jesus called his disciples unto him, and said, I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days, and have nothing to eat: and I will not send them away fasting, lest they faint in the way.”  – Matthew 15:32

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Your commitment to God and His Word unlocks His compassion in your direction.

Compassion refers to kindness and concern for others, which usually provokes an act of benevolence towards them. From our anchor scripture, we see that Jesus had compassion on the multitude because they had been with Him for three days, listening to His Words. That was how passionate people in ancient times were for the Word of God.

However, spending quality time with God has become a luxury nowadays. For instance, if a church service is running for more than three hours, people would usually begin to look at their watches probably out of impatience and/or tiredness. That was not the case with the people in our anchor scripture; they camped with Jesus for three days and so were able to attract His compassion towards them.

How then do you provoke compassion from God?

Commitment to God and His Word is what unlocks His compassion in your direction. God’s love is for everybody, but His compassion and benevolence are for those who have time for Him and His Word. That is to say, it is your love for Him and His Word that magnetizes His Hand and benevolence in your direction. (James 4:8). God does not have favourites but He has intimates.

Remember this: Commitment to God and His Word unlocks His compassion in your direction.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Ask the Lord to draw you into a deeper relationship with Him.
2. Begin to spend quality time with God in Word study and fellowship.

QUALITY RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

SCRIPTURE: “Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime”  – Daniel 6:10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: It is progress with God that is progress indeed; every step away from God is a step closer to disaster.

The word relationship connotes a bond or connection between two or more people. There are different kinds of relationships, but the most crucial kind is the relationship with God. This is because the worth of our lives is determined by the quality of our relationship with God.

It does not matter who you are, if you do not have a quality relationship with God, your life is not worth much.  It was Saint Augustine of blessed memory who once said, “Oh God, You formed us for Yourself, and our lives can have no rest until we rest it in You.”

Beloved, a life devoid of quality relationship with God is like a car moving independent of the driver or a pilot flying independent of the control tower. A crash is inevitable!

To wake up in the morning and go about your daily activities without recourse to the Owner of life is a tragedy waiting to happen. It is progress with God that is progress indeed; every step away from God is a step closer to disasters and regrets.

So, to succeed in time and in eternity, a quality relationship with God is not negotiable. I prophesy the grace for a quality relationship with God on you

Remember this: It is progress with God that is progress indeed; every step away from God is a step closer to disaster.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make daily communion with God a life priority.

LIVING WORTHILY

SCRIPTURE: “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:” – 2 Timothy 4:7-8a

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Departing from this life with minimal regrets is one of the greatest achievements in life.

One of the greatest achievements of anyone on earth is to come to the end of life and be ready to depart the earth with minimal or no regrets. As a young medical doctor, I came across several persons who at their point of exit from life were not ready to die.

Bishop T. D. Jakes told the story of his father who was diagnosed of a terminal disease. As life was ebbing out of him, he told his son, “Son, I have been trying to study what life is all about all these years; now that I thought I have known what life is all about, there is no more time to live the life”.

Beloved, there are many people who wasted their lives on vanity and only realized that when it was time to really live, there was no time to live any longer.

The question is: what is most important in life? This is crucial because it is possible to succeed on earth and be a failure in eternity. Departing from this life with minimal regrets is one of the greatest achievements in life. So, living to give God pleasure and adding value to other lives is living worthily.

Remember this: Departing from this life with minimal regrets is one of the greatest achievements in life.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Go through the lessons again.
2. Take a sober reflection on your life. Are you living for the flesh/self or for God and humanity?

MARKING YOUR GENERATION WITH IMPACT

SCRIPTURE:  “And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing” – Genesis 12:2

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: A person marks his generation when he begins to exist as a generational problem solver.

Marking your generation simply means, making a mark or impact that cannot be erased in your generation. It is being a generational blessing and not a burden. It is to exist as a generational asset and not a liability.

When you come to the point where your absence is felt and your presence is noticed, then, you are making a mark in your generation.

A person marks his generation when he begins to exist as a generational problem solver. There are people who do not just exist; they are those who solve generational problems like Joseph. When there was food crisis (famine) in Egypt, he was used by God to solve that problem in that generation. Nehemiah also existed as a generational solution provider; he rebuilt the broken walls of Jerusalem.

Beloved, there are two categories of people: those who are part of the problems and those who are part of the solutions – which category do you belong to?

My counsel is, be a solution provider to your family, office, school, etc. Let those that know you be happy that they are associated with you.

Receive the grace to be a blessing rather than a burden now in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: A person marks his generation when he begins to exist as a generational problem solver.

FROM STORM TO GLORY

SCRIPTURE: “And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus” – Matthew 14:29

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Refuse to give up, give way, give in or give out until your miracle shows up.

From our anchor scripture, Peter would not have been able to walk on water if not for the storm. Just as eaglets learn how to fly in the midst of the storm, Peter learnt how to walk on water in the midst of the storm. The potential of Peter came out in the midst of that storm.

Beloved, the storm or situation you are passing through now only came to confirm your conviction and to release your potentials. It came to announce you to your generation. It came to take you from the back to the front, from the floor to the top, from obscurity to popularity, from the ground to glory.

It was the storm of the fiery furnace that catapulted Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to prominence (Daniel 3:1-30). The storm of the lions’ den confirmed Daniel’s principality and influence in Babylon (Daniel 6:1-28). And the storm of envy, rejection and slavery took Joseph from the prison to the Palace (Genesis 41:1-45).

My counsel is, refuse to give up, give way, give in or give out until your miracle shows up.

I prophesy to you, that storm of your life is paving way for your glory in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Refuse to give up, give way, give in or give out until your miracle shows up.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Be very sensitive and alert in times of storm; there is something you can do that may be key to your liberation.
2. For as long as you have the breath of life in your nostrils, never give up on yourself or on God.

BELIEF: KEY TO ACHIEVEMENT

SCRIPTURE: “And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water. And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus”. – Matthew 14:28-29

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you believe, you can walk on anything walking on you; you can threaten anything threatening you.

Believing in God is key to achievement in life. From our anchor scripture, Peter ordinarily would not have been able to dare walking on water if he did not see Jesus do it. Furthermore, if he did not believe he could walk on the same water after the command of Jesus, he would not have possibly done it.

The truth is, you can rise above any situation of life if you believe. If you believe, you can walk on anything walking on you; you can threaten anything threatening your life. All you need is to believe and receive the Word of God. When Peter believed, he received the Word of the Master that said COME! Some people said Peter walked on water but he did not actually walk on water but walked on the Word C-O-M-E. That Word “come” became a carpet of a sort on the water.

Hallelujah!

Beloved, if you can get the Word of God (concerning your situation) under your feet, you can walk on bareness, cancer, tuberculosis, peptic ulcer, HIV, failure, poverty, frustration etc.

I prophesy to you, in case the devil lied to you that your problems will bury you, I decree that you shall bury your problems in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: If you believe, you can walk on anything walking on you; you can threaten anything threatening you.

KEY TO RISING ABOVE THE STORM

SCRIPTURE: “But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.” – Matthew 14:30

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If your situation does not stop your dedication, then, your dedication must suffocate your situation.

Focus can be defined as concentrated effort or attention on a particular thing.

One of the major enemies of focus is fear. For as long as Peter focused on the Master, he walked on the water, but the moment he shifted his focus to the storm, he began to sink. No matter how violent the storm is, do not take your eyes off the Master. The devil wants your storm (challenge) to cut you off from God. But your greatest asset in times of storm is God. It does not matter what you lose, if you have not lost God you have lost nothing. Do not let the devil use any situation to stop your prayer life and the study of the Word.

Beloved, if your situation does not stop your dedication, then, your dedication must suffocate your situation. Do not allow any temporal thing to tamper with your relationship with God. God is not your God only because He gave you the good things of life; He is your God because He created you and made you in His image. So, if you must rise above the storms of your life, brutal trust and dogged focus on God are not optional.

Remember this: If your situation does not stop your dedication, then, your dedication must suffocate your situation

RISING ABOVE THE STORM

RISING ABOVE THE STORM

SCRIPTURE: But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary. And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. – Matthew 14:24-25.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: For as long as you set your gaze on Jesus, you are not permitted to sink.

A storm is defined as a violent disturbance of the atmosphere with strong winds and usually rain, thunder, lightning, or snow.

Storms usually constitute hindrance. The journey that should have taken about 30 minutes, took Jesus’ disciples about 9 hours because of a storm. But interestingly, the same storm that troubled them was what Jesus walked on.

The truth is, the disciples were not travelling on their personal assignment; they were on the journey by the instruction of the Master, yet, they faced opposition. You see, moving in the right direction does not eliminate opposition. Doing the will of God or living in the plan of God does not mean that the enemy will not confront you. And the storm you confront is not necessarily because of the sins you committed.

Beloved, for as long as you are headed in the right direction, you will face contrary wind. But do not be afraid; if God is on your side, there is nothing you cannot survive. All you need to do is to keep looking unto the Master. As long as you set your gaze on Him, you are not permitted to sink.

No storm of life shall swallow you in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: For as long as you set your gaze on him, you are not permitted to sink.

DELAY IS NOT DENIAL

SCRIPTURE: “But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary” – Matthew 14:24

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Resistance is not refusal; if you do not give up, you will go up.

The disciples of Jesus were meant to cross over to the other side within 30 minutes, but they used about 9 hours because a storm delayed them. However, the most important thing is, despite the delay, they reached their destination.

Your expectation may be delayed but your destination cannot be denied. If God gives you a promise, the devil may resist it but it must come to pass. If God says that this year you will get married, have your baby, etc., the devil may try to resist that promise but he cannot abort it. For Abraham and his wife, God promised to make them a great nation at age 75 and 65 respectively, but they waited until Abraham became 100 years and his wife 90 before having a child (Genesis 15:4, 21:2).

Beloved, that you have been delayed does not mean you have been denied. Resistance is not refusal; if you do not give up, you will go up. That great thing God said concerning your destiny may be experiencing some delay right now, but the good news is: that you have not yet achieved it does not mean you cannot achieve it. You shall surely achieve it in Jesus’ Name.

Remember this: Resistance is not refusal; if you do not give up, you will go up.

BE UPDATED

SCRIPTURE: “…Make sure they are well versed in every branch of learning, are gifted with knowledge and good judgment, and are suited to serve in the royal palace…” – Daniel 1:4b (NLT)

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Be addicted to excellence and allergic to mediocrity in order to escape being a monument.

Sometime ago, I travelled to my hometown and saw the storey building that was celebrated in 1975 as the best building in that community at that time. I was so amazed because the building has now become an eyesore. Imagine that! What was celebrated yesterday is being tolerated today. The truth is, if you do not want your life to be tolerated but celebrated, continuously update yourself. Be addicted to excellence and allergic to mediocrity in order to escape being a monument.

Someone once said, “The largest room in the world is the room for improvement”. If you do not update yourself, you will soon become outdated.  You must also refuse the life of comparison because when you compare yourself with mediocre persons, you may feel like a champion amongst them whereas you are still battling with how to become excellent. It is like a butterfly calling itself a bird in the company of flies.

At the end of our journey on earth, God is going to ask us how productive we were with the potentials He deposited in us.

I prophesy on you the grace for personal update and improvement in Jesus’ Name.

THE DISASTER OF LIVING INDEPENDENT OF DIVINE DIRECTION

SCRIPTURE: And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land. – Genesis 12:10

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every move outside Divine direction is a downward move in life.

One of the tragedies of life is the tragedy of working out your destiny independent of God. Never struggle to work out your welfare without depending on God. Do not struggle to take the direction of your life into your own hands. This is because every move outside Divine direction is a downward move in life.

Our anchor Scripture says that Abraham went down to Egypt. Even though the passage may have a geographical connotation, it has a spiritual implication. Abraham was working things out for himself.  He said to himself, “There is scarcity in this land, so let me go to this other land and things will be good.” Meanwhile Abraham did not call himself in the first place.

Every action outside Divine direction equals retrogression. Any step you take outside the will of God is a downward step in life. There are so many people today who would have been higher than where they are in life if they did not decide to do things their own way. Instead of going up, such people keep going down in life.

You will never be a victim of the disaster of living without Divine direction, in Jesus’ Name.

SEVEN AVENUES OF STEWARDSHIP

SCRIPTURE: A faithful man shall abound with blessings... – Proverbs 28:20

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: If you want to abound with the Blessings of God, be faithful in your devotion to God

Yesterday, it was established that faithfulness is key to fruitfulness. We also examined faithfulness as being true to God and the people around us.

Today, we shall be examining 7 key areas where God wants us to be faithful.

1. Be faithful in your devotion to God: If you want to abound with the blessings of God, be faithful in your devotion to God; be faithful in your prayer life and personal Bible study.

2. Be faithful in your giving: Your giving is a proof of your love for God. Nobody can prove his or her love for someone without giving (John 3:16).

3. Be faithful in witnessing: Be faithful in evangelism; be faithful in changing other people’s lives.

4. Be faithful in Kingdom Service: Do not just sit in Church; get involved in active service

5. Be faithful to duty: Wherever you work, be faithful to duty.

6. Be faithful to your spouse: Whoever is not faithful to their spouse is cursed. Our anchor scripture says that it is the faithful that will abound with the blessing. The opposite of blessing is curse.

7. Be faithful to your calling: Be faithful to your Divine assignment in God. Deploy the grace of God.

Remember this: If you want to abound with the Blessings of God, be faithful in your devotion to God.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Be faithful in every aspect of your relationship with God.

2. Be faithful in every aspect of your relationship with people, especially your spouse.

MARKS OF THE FAITHFUL

SCRIPTURE: His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord. – Matthew 25:21

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Faithful people do not struggle to be blessed; blessings struggle for them.

From our anchor scripture, we understand that faithfulness is the key to fruitfulness in life. God does not promote the unfaithful. Many people wonder why they have remained at the same spot for many years. Unknown to such people however, faithfulness may be lacking in their lives.

What then is the meaning of faithfulness?
1. Faithfulness means absolute commitment. When a person is faithful to God or faithful to duty, there is an absoluteness of commitment; a commitment that does not waver (Daniel 3:17-18).
2. Faithfulness means consistency of character. When a person is said to be faithful in Church, it means he is always there on time.
3. Faithfulness means trustworthiness or dependability. When a person is described as faithful, it means God, his employer or spouse can trust him.
4. Faithfulness means performing according to expectation. When a person is described as a faithful worker, it means that the person performs his duty according to expectation. As a matter of fact, a truly faithful person will even exceed your expectations; they will go beyond what is expected of them. Faithful people do not struggle to be blessed; blessings struggle for them.

Remember this: Faithful people do not struggle to be blessed; blessings struggle for them

THE WAY OF DEDICATION

SCRIPTURE: This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise.  – Isaiah 43:21

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: We have no license to survive outside of God.

Dedication to God begins with an understanding of one’s purpose for existence. When the reason for your existence is understood, it becomes very easy to be dedicated.

So, why then are we here on earth?

1. Man was created to share the character and likeness of God and to function as the extension of God's authority over the earth.

2. Man was created to give God pleasure through worship and communion (Isaiah 43:21).

Note:

1. We did not bring ourselves into the world so we cannot live as we want.

2.  A future without God is a future without good both in this world and in the hereafter.

3. To progress without God is to hurry into irreversible destruction. We have no license to survive outside of God.

What then is the Way of Dedication?

Dedication is living to give God pleasure and satisfaction in all areas of life. It is living to hate what God hates and love what He loves.

Dedication is living a life that is considerate for the feelings of God. A dedicated person will ask questions like, “Is God okay with what I am about to do?”

It is living to manifest the character and conduct of the Kingdom.

Remember this: We have no license to survive outside of God.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Ask God for the grace to remain dedicated to Him no matter the cost.

2. Ensure that God always has the final say in your life.

PRAYER AND WISDOM

SCRIPTURE: If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.  – James 1:5

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When a person gets access to the Ways of God, he begins to fly on the highways of life.

The place of prayer has been confirmed as the place of wisdom. An encounter with the All-wise God at the place of prayer is an encounter with the wisdom of creation. Solomon was the wisest and wealthiest man in his generation and he received his wisdom at the place of prayer (2 Chronicles 1:7). People of prayer, therefore, are people of wisdom.

Now, what is Wisdom?

1. Wisdom is insight into the Ways of God (Psalms 103:7). When this happens, a person begins to fly on the highways of life.

2. Wisdom means understanding what it takes to move from where you are to where you need to be.

3. Wisdom is being in possession of direction and provision of leadership for your generation.

4. Wisdom is access to light and the hidden secrets of God.

How then do you receive wisdom?
1. By reading the Word.
2. By studying the Word.
3. By listening to the Word.
4. Through anointed tapes and books.
5. By a flash of inspiration.
6. By anointed thoughts/imaginations.

Note: God only releases wisdom to men who are given to action. God will not give you any direction if you will not do anything about it.

Remember this: When a person gets access to the Ways of God, he begins to fly on the highways of life.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Seek to know God above every other knowledge of life.
2. Demand for wisdom from God on a daily basis.

MAXIMISING YOUR LIFE

SCRIPTURE: Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the Lord is with him. – 1 Samuel 16:18.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Anywhere God finds servants, oil must flow.

It is very important for the children of God to understand what it takes to live life to the fullest in order to avoid the tragedy of a wasted existence.

David was a young man who, in the midst of diverse challenges, rose to prominence. He killed Goliath; he was a music director, a choir master, a song writer, an inventor of musical equipment, a priest, a prophet, a king, a people developer, a military strategist, a war hero, etc. Only one man in one lifetime! All these happened because he decided to maximize his life despite distractions.

Now, what are David’s qualifications for this excellent existence?
1. Servanthood: David served both God and his generation excellently even without counting the cost (Acts 13:36). The Anointing flows on the heads of servants. Anywhere God finds servants, oil must flow.

2. Responsibility: This involves rising up to the occasion. That is being proactive.  It means doing what others have refused to do without waiting to be told.

3. Integrity: This means maintaining the lifestyle of honesty and uprightness; it is living with a clean heart. God can only pour oil on the head of the qualified.

Remember this: Anywhere God finds servants, oil must flow.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Live with a clean heart.
2.Ignore the distractions of life; determine to make progress despite resistance.
3.Embrace the lifestyle of service.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The worst thing that can happen to anybody is to live in this world without fulfilling purpose.

Moses was a man who had an idea of the plan of God for his life and he went in the strength of that idea to deliver the children of Israel from the captivity of the Egyptians. However, when he met stiff oppositions, he abandoned his path of purpose for forty years. But after he encountered God at the flames of the burning bush, God redirected his life to the path of purpose.

Now, what does it mean to fulfil purpose?

1.It is the fulfilment of Divine agenda for a man’s life.

It is the reason God created you (Jeremiah 1:5). It is the reason you succeeded in the womb of your mother against the million sperms competing for fertilization.

Beloved, the worst thing that can happen to anybody is to live in this world without fulfilling purpose. Life without bearing is a burden.

2. It is the full release of potentials.

This means touching lives with a mark that will last for time and eternity. You are not permitted to sleep until you have serviced your generation. When you come to a point where people thank God for your life, then you are on the pathway of purpose.

Remember this: The worst thing that can happen to anybody is to live in this world without fulfilling purpose.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Ask God persistently to show you the purpose of your existence, and if you have already discovered it, ensure to work hard in order to fulfil it in your lifetime.

PRAYER: O Lord, I ask that You reveal to me what You have deposited into my life. Help me Lord to fulfil the purpose for which You created me in Jesus’ Name.

CHANNELS OF HEALING POWER

SCRIPTURE: Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. – Luke 9:1

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When the Spirit of God is present in your life, He removes what must be removed; repairs what must be repaired and replaces what must be replaced.

The Power of God is the manifest Presence of God and the seal of discipleship. To be a follower of the Master is to possess the Power of God. The Power of God is multi-dimensional in transmission and thus passes through diverse mediums to bless God’s people.

What are some of the Channels of Power?
1. The Name of Jesus: When the Name of Jesus is invoked, it comes with the authority of the Owner of the Name. When this happens, the Anointing on the Name is released and you are empowered to act on His behalf.

2. The Anointing Oil: This is liquefied Power that transmits the Spirit of God.
When the Spirit of God is present in your life, He removes what must be removed; repairs what must be repaired and replaces what must be replaced.

3. The Communion: This is represented by the bread and wine which communicates the benefits of redemption. Whatever is in the body and blood of Christ is communicated through the communion.

We must understand that revelation plus conviction and taking the necessary actions bring about manifestation. So, faith must be placed in God and not on the channel of Power; faith must undergird every action of power.

Remember this: When the Spirit of God is present in your life, He removes what must be removed; repairs what must be repaired and replaces what must be replaced.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Always have absolute faith in God as your Source of healing and health.
2. Connect to God’s power through the Anointing Oil, the Communion and the Name of Jesus.

PRAYER: O LORD, I ask for the faith that will bring about the manifestation of Your power in my life. I make demands for Your Presence in my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
