SCRIPTURE: Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the Lord is with him. – 1 Samuel 16:18.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Anywhere God finds servants, oil must flow.
It is very important for the children of God to understand what it takes to live life to the fullest in order to avoid the tragedy of a wasted existence.
David was a young man who, in the midst of diverse challenges, rose to prominence. He killed Goliath; he was a music director, a choir master, a song writer, an inventor of musical equipment, a priest, a prophet, a king, a people developer, a military strategist, a war hero, etc. Only one man in one lifetime! All these happened because he decided to maximize his life despite distractions.
Now, what are David’s qualifications for this excellent existence?
1. Servanthood: David served both God and his generation excellently even without counting the cost (Acts 13:36). The Anointing flows on the heads of servants. Anywhere God finds servants, oil must flow.
2. Responsibility: This involves rising up to the occasion. That is being proactive. It means doing what others have refused to do without waiting to be told.
3. Integrity: This means maintaining the lifestyle of honesty and uprightness; it is living with a clean heart. God can only pour oil on the head of the qualified.
Remember this: Anywhere God finds servants, oil must flow.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Live with a clean heart.
2.Ignore the distractions of life; determine to make progress despite resistance.
3.Embrace the lifestyle of service.
PRAYER: O Lord, I ask for the baptism of a Godly lifestyle so that I can live excellently in life in Jesus’ Name.
