SCRIPTURE: Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it. – Ecclesiastes 12:7
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: No matter how handsome or beautiful you are, you are handsome or beautiful dust.
We live in a transient world. Everyone on earth is gradually moving towards a timeless eternity. As people are being born into the world, people are also leaving this world in death to a permanent place called eternity; either Heaven or hell.
Many people are not conscious of eternity; they live under the control of their flesh.
It is important to know that another name for the flesh that covers a man’s body is called dust. So, everyone carries a body that is dust.
That means no matter how beautiful, fair or dark your completion; it is just a beautiful, fair or dark dust. No matter how handsome you are, you are a handsome dust.
Investment in the flesh (dust) which will decay one day in the earth is a waste of investment. (Ecclesiastes 12:7).
Beloved, Jesus died for you so you can live for Him and end in Heaven. He paid the penalty for your sins in order to set you free.
Therefore, draw near to God with all your heart. Invest your time and resources in a way that will enhance the building up of your spirit man.
Remember this: No matter how handsome or beautiful you are, you are a handsome or beautiful dust.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Make up your mind not to invest your time, energy and resources only in the development of the flesh
2. Develop your spirit by investing in materials (books, CDs) that will enhance your spirit.
3. Maintain a consistent personal relationship with God.
PRAYER: O LORD, help me not to waste my life on earth pursuing vanity. Give me the grace to invest my time and resources in the development of my spirit in Jesus’ Name.
